The Two Delay Traps
This is our own guidance, based on how applications commonly stall. It is separate from the TxDMV Q&A above.
Linked Authority
If TxDMV finds any connection to a certificate or authority you (or your business) held before, review time adds 7 business days on top of the standard 24 to 48 hour review. Most carriers do not think to flag this history themselves when applying.
Insurance Handoff
After approval, you get a Unique Identifier Number (UIN) that you have to personally send to your insurance company so they can file. If that call never happens, the application just sits with no warning.
